What Is a Dental Implant?

A small titanium fixture placed where the natural root was. In suitable cases, bone grows around it (osseointegration) and supports an abutment and crown. Three parts: fixture, abutment, crown.

Unlike dentures or bridges, it replaces the root position. In suitable cases, this may help reduce bone loss after extraction. At Misora, we use custom abutments shaped to your gum contour for a natural gum line and easier cleaning where suitable.

Are You Suitable? 4 Factors We Check

1. Bone volume: CBCT scan, where indicated, to check height, width, sinus/nerve proximity. Grafting may be discussed if insufficient.
2. Gum health: Active gum disease is treated first.
3. General health: Well-controlled diabetes / high blood pressure may be compatible in suitable cases. Smoking, certain medications, and radiotherapy history need closer review.
4. Age: No upper limit; lower end usually after jaw growth (~18).

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost in Singapore in 2026?

At Misora Dental, dental implants start from SGD 2,800 per implant. With MediSave, patients pay from SGD 850. T&Cs apply, subject to eligibility and CPF Board approval.

Market range for reference (private clinics, per tooth including fixture + abutment + crown): SGD 3,000 – SGD 6,000 excluding additional procedures. These are published ranges, not Misora fees. You will receive a written quotation after assessment.

Can You Use MediSave for Dental Implants?

MediSave is a national healthcare savings scheme, not a clinic discount or guaranteed entitlement. Eligibility and amount depend on treatment performed, prevailing CPF limits, balance, and approval.

Under CPF Board guidance (updated 13 March 2026): Insertion of dental implants: number of implants x SGD 1,120, up to the Table 2C limit. Removal: number x SGD 490, up to the Table 1C limit. Example: 2 implants inserted may allow up to SGD 2,240 (2 x SGD 1,120) for the surgical portion, subject to eligibility. 

What may NOT be claimable: crown, abutment, consultation, routine X-rays, whitening/veneers. These are paid out-of-pocket.

Who can use it: Your own MediSave, or an immediate family member (spouse, parents, children, grandparents, siblings) with consent, subject to CPF terms. Procedure must be at a MediSave-accredited clinic. Annual withdrawal limits apply. Approval is not automatic.

Recovery & Aftercare

First week: soft diet, chew opposite side, no smoking, gentle salt-water rinses from day 2 if advised, avoid strenuous exercise.
Weeks 2-24: Bone bonding phase. Contact clinic if persistent throbbing, looseness, bad taste.
Long term: Implants don’t decay, but gum inflammation (peri-implantitis) can occur. Brush twice daily, interdental cleaning, 6-monthly reviews. Night guard if grinding.
